TBT- Throwback Thursdays

If you're on Instagram you'll know all about throw back Thursdays (Flash back Fridays for all you Americans).

 You can follow me here.

It’s the day of the week when everyone searches for the golden oldies in their photo albums and posts onto Instagram hoping to get likes above the ‘three figure threshold’ – a hard feat if you are not a celebrity. I have decided to bring this craze to my blog. Each week on a Thursday you will find on here a fantastic ‘throw back’ to something I like or something I did and loved.

Summer Music Festivals.....

Every summer, I curiously watch as friends embark on a roll of festivals in and around the UK. We really are spoilt for choice with the likes of Glastonbury, V Fest and Wireless selling out almost as soon as the tickets go on sale.
Guess what?!!
Maybe this picture will help:

That’s right, me and my Remballs will be going to Wireless this year. This is to be my first festival and I am overly excited.

I hope it lives up to my high expectations!!!

Fantasy Shopper

I am doomed.

And perhaps I am not being dramatic enough but I have just discovered Fantasy shopper and its very existence threatens my daily productivity.

In the words of Adele..."I LOOOOOOVE IT"

The concept is smart and simple. Browse through the pages, clicking on the items you like and you have the option to add it to your wardrobe or buy this item which takes you to the sellers site.

Check out some of the items below that caught my lil magpie eye:

LULU GUINNESS £245.00

HARRODS £525.00

DOROTHY PERKINS high street version of the ALEXANDER McQUEEN Knuckle duster clutch

HARRODS

I very nearly didn't want to share this with you as it would be quite a delectable secret for me to keep. However, its too wonderful to be selfish, so shake off those Sunday blues. Ignore the cold weather. And get shopping without retiring your purse or wallet.

Happy shopping!

FULHAM v Stoke City FC

Today I took one step closer on the road to becoming a football fan.

Complimentary hospitality package tickets to the Fulham v Stoke City FC game meant that I was able to treat my friend Roland to a match of the sport he refers to as "the beautiful game". An avid player and spectator of the sport, I couldn't think of anyone who would appreciate going more.

If you've read El-Burrito you will understand why I was so surprised to find myself peeking out of my warm duvet haven 20 minutes before my alarm was due to wake me.

Excuse the bed hair.....

I tamed it as best as I could and headed towards Fulham to meet Roland.

Destination: Craven Cottage

Welcome to Craven Cottage

FULHAM!!

Roland...chilling in McBrides

Whats a great day without a hotdog?!

1-0 to Fulham

Ended the day riding on the winning high of the Home fans. Maybe I could be a football fan after all....

El Burrito - Arrrrrriba!!!

Between work trips (for me) and vacations (both of us) I wont get to see my friend Remi for nearly a month. Last night we took to the streets of London (not as hobo as it sounds :-/) to bid ourselves Bon voyage.

Opting for a restaurant not far from Goodge street, we began the night with Burritos at El Burrito. Tucked away off Charlotte Street this little Mexican joint really packs a punch. Greeted like old friends and served like treasured regulars by Andrea, you order your meal in 3 steps.

1. Choose your meal
2. Choose your filling
3. add sides

An El Burrito virgin, I was urged to give the Chicken Tanga a go, I asked for all fillings proclaiming that I wanted my Burrito to "Take me to Mexico".

The customer service was amazing and you find yourself feeling very at home sitting amongst Mexican expats and spanish speakers with walls decorated by local mexican artists its easy to be mistaken into thinking this was somewhere in the heart of Mexico city.

No Bon Voyage is complete without some liquor to toast to the future adventures, so we accompanied our chicken tangas with a jug, or two, or four of delicious frozen margaritas.

As the night melted away...and our stomachs cried for us to rescue them from the relentless tequila based onslaught we bid farewell to Andrea and his colleagues and headed to the Hagan Daaz cafe in Leicester square to end the bitter night on a sweet note.

I'll be visiting El Burrito again in the near future as i'm dying to try some of the traditional mexican soft drinks on offer and to eat the authentic tacos. Want to visit Mexico without the cost of a flight and hotel, head down to El Burrito. The food and beverages will have you speaking Spanish by the end of the night.
